outstanding work and excellence in the field of military figures
1991 Civil War Round Table of Albany ,NY presented an award to recognize
Tunison’s many sculptures depicting Civil War themes
1991 The Gold medal award for excellence from the Miniature Figure Collectors
of America for the one-of-a-kind hand-painted sculpture, ‘In Pursuit’
1990 The Gold Medal award for excellence from the Military Miniature Society
of Illinois for the bronze sculpture, ‘Dismounted Reb’
1989 The Best of show Award from The New Jersey Historical Miniatures
Association for the bronze sculpture, ‘The Last Meeting’
1988 The Fort Hamilton Historical Society Hanley-Richter Award for the Best
NY Military figure for the sculpture entitled, ‘Buford and Reynolds’
1987 The Bronze medal from the Military Miniature Collectors of America
1985 NJ ’85 Most Popular award from the NJ Military Miniature Association
1985 The Spirit of America award for the best US figure at the NJ Historical
Miniature Association show for the one-of-a-kind fired clay, hand-painted sculpture entitled, ‘A Long Look at Lee’
